I think that Katniss and Peeta getting engaged is well needed because they need to some how prove to the Capital that they are still in love and getting engaged is a pretty good start to convincing the capital. Mitch
I think that Katniss and Peeta getting engaged is kind of good and kind of bad. First of all I think it is good because they need to show everyone that they are in love and if they don't do this then their families will be hurt and who knows what else could happen. But I think them getting engaged is bad because they are not being strong and fighting for themselves. They already got away with pretending they "love" each other so why can't they just stand up and put a stop to everything. The Capitol don't own Katniss and Peeta, they are their own person and i think they should be able to do what they want.
My thoughts on Katniss and Peeta getting engaged is that it had to be done in order to save both of their lives and lives of their loved ones from the uprising they caused in District 11. I don't think it is necessarily a good thing because they are young and it's not what Katniss wants but like I said it had to be done and Katniss is willing to do what she has to do to protect her mother, Prim, and Gale.
Believe that Aric needs to Write a longer and more detailed comment :) and i also agree with what lauren has to say they should be able to be themselfs. The hunger games are now over and they should be able to do what and not be under control of the capital now that the games are over Mitch
I agree with Bridget's comment. Yes they have to do what is right and that is to save their loved ones. This wasn't their fault so they should not get hurt for Katniss's actions. But i also agree with Mitch's comment. They are out of the Hunger Games now where the Capitol is not running your life anymore like they were during the games. They should be able to marry who they want to, love who they want to and have children if they want to. Katniss doesn't want to have a forced future. They are both to young and Katniss doesn't know her feelings about Peeta yet. She just can't forget about Gale. And Katniss doesn't want to have children because she doesn't want to risk having them get volunteered into the games. That is wrong if you are scared to have children just for that reason.
I also agree. they should be able to do what they want not just what President Snow tells them to do. They should be able to make their own speaches and the Capital should air them. Aric

The Victory Tour is over so the Capitol and President Snow should forget about the entertainment part of the games and leave Katniss and Peeta alone. New Question: What do you think about Katniss saying... "The hatred I feel for him, for the phantom girl, for everything, is so real and immediate that it chokes me. Gale is mine. I am his. Anything else is unthinkable. Why did it take him being whipped within an inch of his life to see it?" Does this change any of your thoughts about the relationship between Katniss and Peeta or Katniss and Gale? What has Katniss realized?
Yes i think this has changed the relationships a lot. Katniss said in that quote that Gale is mine. and I am his. She loves him and Gales loves Katniss. Gale and Katniss have been there for one another through a lot of things and i think their love for one another will finally come out. I think Katniss has realized that she acutally does love Gale and that she wants to be with Gale. And i think that Gale has realized that Katniss is more than just a friend and that he does love her.
