Personal Journal: The conflict that i see in the first section would be Man vs. Self. Katniss has gotten herself into a bundle. President Snow came and threatened her and told her that if she doesn't prove to everyone that her love for Peeta was all fake then he is going to hurt her family and Gale. How is Katniss going to prove herself to all the people that she was just acting? If Katniss does tell everyone that she was lying during the Hunger Games how she loved Peeta then everyone is going to think she is a liar. If she tells everyone that she outsmarted the Capitol and planned to eat the berries and she knew they were not poisonous then everyone will think she is a liar and look down on her. But if she doesn't tell everyone the truth then something bad will happen to Gale and her family. I can relate to what Katniss is going through. I have been in a tough decision before and i had no idea what to do about it. I got a really bad grade in one of my classes in 8th grade and i had to tell my parents before they found out from my teacher or my report card. So i was between getting the courage to tell my parents myself and get yelled at or have them find out on their own and get yelled at. Either way i was going to get in trouble. But i decided to tell them on my own. It would be better for them to know the truth instead of lying about it and having them find out on their own. Yes my problem was not as big as Katniss's but it's still a problem that i faced and that Katniss is going to have to face. I think Katniss will solve her conflict by telling everyone it was all an act. She survived through the Hunger Games and she had to do what it took to survive. If anyone else was in her position they would do what it takes to survive. And during the games it was outsmarting the Capitol. People can think what they want about her but at least she isn't lying and she saves her family.

Character Journal: The character that is in conflict with Katniss would be President Snow. I am very upset with Miss Katniss and her actions. At the end of the Hunger Games Katniss and Peeta acted like they were "in love" with one another allowing them both to win. We have never had two winners in the Hunger Games ever. It is not allowed but Katniss made it happen. Katniss embarressed everyone at the Capitol including myself. She was also dishonest with everyone in the Capitol and to all the people what were watching the Hunger Games by acting like she loved Peeta. By Katniss and Peeta both winning it makes the Capitol and myself look weak, like we back down to the poor and they can get away with anything now. But that's not going to happen. I went over to Katniss's house and i informed her that if she needs prove to everyone in all the districts and to everyone in the Capitol that her love for Peeta was all an act and not real. If Katniss does not do this i threatened to kill Gale, Prim and her Mother. I did not like how Katniss made me look and that actions that she decided to take so I'm giving her a chance to make things right and if she doesn't danger will be ahead for Katniss and her loved ones.

Summary: Peeta and Katniss win the Hunger Games together and they are back home to district twelve. They are into their nice new houses and trying to get the feeling of being back home. Katniss and Peeta are getting ready to go around on the Victory Tour. Katniss doesn't want to go at all, she wants to forget the Hunger Games completely and never speak of them again. One day, Katniss returns home from hunting on the day of the Victory Tour she comes home and faced with a surprise. President Snow is at her house waiting to have a special word with her and Katniss knows that by the look on his face it was not a good word. President Snow tells Katniss that he and everyone else at the Captiol is very upset with Katniss and Peeta and how her and Peeta tricked them during the Hunger Games. He also knows that she was lying to everyone about her love for Peeta and that it was an act during the Games and if she can't show the people in everyone in the districts and Capitol that she is still in love with Peeta that he might have to kill the ones closest to Katniss.
Theme: Survival seems to be an important theme throughout the book. Katniss is already facing some hard struggles with President Snow showing up and threatening her. She needs to survive and get threw this and prove to everyone it was all an act so her family doesn't die. I think Katniss will need to keep pushing forward and suriving throughout the whole book.
Predictions:
1. Katniss will prove to everyone that it was all an act and her family will not die.
2. Gale will fall in love with Katniss.
3. President Snow will threaten Prim and Katniss's mother.

Catching Fire
Love
Catching Fire has a lot of different themes in the book. But one that i think stands out is love. During the first book it was love and how Peeta and Katniss fall in love and their for one another helps them both win the games. In the second book Katniss is between Gale her long old friend and Peeta. She doesn't know what one she loves but Katniss will eventually fall in love with one.
I picked this song Crazy Girl because these two would do anything for one another because they are so in love. I think Peeta and Katniss did everything they could for one another and they were there for one another throughout the whole book and they stuck together at the end when they both needed each other and they won.
We were given: Two hands to hold. Two legs to walk. Two eyes to see. Two ears to listen. But why only one heart? Because the other was given to someone else. For us to find.Source Unknown
